Restylane

When you look in the mirror, do you notice lines, wrinkles, and diminished facial volume?  You are not alone.  As we get older, we begin to lose volume in our faces that can often make us look older than our age. Luckily, there is an option to help put the volume back where it belongs to a more youthful and vibrant appearance.

What Is Restylane®?

Restylane® is an FDA approved treatment for wrinkles and fine lines. It works by injecting a specially formulated dermal filler, containing hyaluronic acid, into the subcutaneous tissue of the face. This extraordinary formula imitates the function of your body's natural hyaluronic acid.

What makes it so effective is the uncommon properties and functions of hyaluronic acid. Your body naturally produces it to attract water which will keep the skin, connective tissue, and eyes moisturized and lubricated. As the body ages, it loses its ability to maintain the amount of this substance, among others.

Restylane®  is available in six unique products: Restylane®, Restylane-L®, Restylane® Lyft with Lidocaine, Restylane® Silk, Restylane® Refyne, and Restylane® Defyne. The differences of each Restylane product lies with the viscosity or thickness of the filler.

How Does It Work?

Restylane® is injected under the skin near the wrinkles. Then the hyaluronic acid gathers water to moisturize the skin. The added moisture causes it to plump up the same way rice expands in water. As a result, Restylane® gives the skin a fuller appearance to mimic the look of naturally youthful skin.

It basically is reversing the aging process by replenishing the substance that was lost over time. Finally, there's a skin treatment that doesn't look exaggerated and over the top. You'll still look like yourself, you'll just look like you turned back the clock a few years. In fact, this new formula is so cutting edge and unique that Restylane®was the first to get FDA approval for this groundbreaking technology.

Restylane® Product Family

There are different specialized products in the Restylane® line that make up the Restylane® family. These products include...

Restylane® and Restylane L (with Lidocaine):

This is the original product, where it all started. It's meant to be used on wrinkles, lines, and folds around the mouth, nose, and chin but it can be used on the lips as well.

Restylane®  is Ideal for the correction of hollow tear troughs, moderate to severe facial lines, and heavy nasolabial folds around the nose and mouth that occur with aging.  Restylane can also be used to roll back the years on your lips by augmenting the volume and giving your lips a fuller more youthful appearance.

Restylane® Silk:

The Lips You Want - Silkier, Smoother, More Natural Looking

This Restylane® product is specifically for use on the lips and area surrounding the mouth.

If you are looking for more pucker worthy lips, then Restylane® Silk might be just what you need and want. Restylane® Silk is specifically formulated with the lightest consistency for use on the lips and area surrounding the mouth. It contains smaller particles of hyaluronic acid to create a smoother look with more even distribution. and offers a soft, smooth volume that is ideal for enhancing lips providing a more plump and youthful appearance and is also used in the correction of perioral wrinkles.

Restylane® Lyft with Lidocaine:

The First and Only Hyaluronic Acid Filler FDA-approved to Treat Your Face and Hands

Restylane Lyft is made to target the cheeks and hands to add volume for a fuller, more youthful look.  Lyft is formulated to go deeper into the facial tissue to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.  As its name implies, Restylane® Lyft with Lidocaine provides a non-surgical lift for your face to diminish the signs of aging.  It is also used to correct nasolabial folds, for cheek augmentation and can be used to address age-related midface contour deficiencies.

Restylane® Refyne and Restylane® Defyne:

Restylane® Defyne and Restylane® Refyne are the only fillers on the market that have been shown in a clinical study to help maintain movement and expressions. These fillers utilize a new “XpresHAn” technology which provides a more natural movement within the face resulting in a more authentic appearance.

Restylane® Refyne:

Natural Results That Refyne Your Laugh Lines

Refyne is used expressly on the laugh lines that develop around the mouth over time. The natural collagen and hyaluronic acid decrease as we age causing our skin to lose its elasticity. Refyne is designed to minimize the appearance of these lines.

What makes this product truly special though—the thing that sets it apart from other products boasting similar results—is that, while it's designed to reduce the look of laugh lines, it won't eliminate your ability to show emotion through facial expressions. Some wrinkle treatments are actually known for limiting one's ability to express feelings through facial cues. With Refyne you don't have to look like you feel less, to feel like you look better.

Restylane® Defyne:

Defyne Your Expression Natural

Defyne is a lot like Refyne in that it targets laugh lines but doesn't strip you of your emotional expression. The difference is the depth of the laugh lines in question. Deeper, more pronounced lines will require a product that can get results at that level.

Does It Really Produce Visible Results?

Most patients love that they can add more volume to their faces giving the appearance of a lift without surgery.  You'll love it too as Restylane will re-contour areas around your face returning the soft and rounded features of your youth.  And though the injections are minimally invasive with very little downtime, the results can be significant.

The statistics speak for themselves.

94% of patients over 2 years said it was worth doing. 95% were still seeing results as much as 9 months after the procedure. So far, almost everyone who's tried it is raving about their results. To find out more, ask questions, or take the next step, please contact us. We're more than happy to help!
